Who We Are

The Ocean County Republican Organization, also known as the Ocean County GOP (OCGOP), is the foundation of Republican strength in New Jersey. Under the leadership of Chairman George R. Gilmore, Vice Chair Ruthanne Scaturro, and Executive Director Jennifer Bacchione, in the 2024 presidential election, Ocean County delivered the largest number of votes and the largest margin of victory for President Donald J. Trump in New Jersey. In 2016, Ocean County gave President Donald J. Trump the largest number of votes in New Jersey and the second-largest margin in the country — proof of what happens when Republicans work together with purpose and commitment.

Our Republican efforts are supported by our county committee, club presidents, elected officials, and dedicated volunteers. Whether you are new to politics or a seasoned Republican leader, OCGOP is your home base to make a real difference.

A County Guided by Republican Leadership

Republicans in Ocean County have elected all five Republican commissioners and all three constitutional officers. Ocean County has two congressional districts — both represented by Republicans, Congressman Chris Smith and Congressman Jeff Van Drew. With nearly 192,000 registered Republicans — about 37% of the county’s voters — and only 18% registered Democrats, Ocean County is the largest Republican voter base in the state.
