On November 6th, 2018, constituents in New Jerseys Second Congressional District elected Jeff Van Drew to represent them in the United States House of Representatives. He was sworn in on January 3rd, 2019.  Van Drew would make history once again in November 2020 by becoming the first Republican ever to defeat a  member of the Kennedy family for Congress after receiving more votes than any previous candidate in the history of New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. Van Drew's victory ended the family's tenure in Washington for the first time since President John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress immediately following World War 2.

Van Drew previously served as New Jersey State Senator, State Assemblyman, Freeholder in Cape May County, as well Mayor, Township Committeeman and a Fire Commissioner in his hometown of Dennis Township. He has earned a reputation as a strong advocate for southern New Jersey municipalities, but especially for veterans, senior citizens, and consumers. He demonstrates a willingness to work on a bipartisan basis, addressing issues of vital concern to the residents of his district. Dr. Van Drew recently retired from dentistry after 35 years of practice in South Jersey. He and his wife have two children and one grandchild and reside in Dennis Township.
