SMITH: Extreme Left-Wing Policies Have Created the Human Rights Issue of Our Time
Congressman Chris Smith led a roundtable with leaders from around the country at the Family Research Council Meeting. The Congressman, a staunch defender of the unborn, led a strategy session focused on promoting pro-life policies

The Family Research Council is a non-profit research and educational organization dedicated to articulating and advancing a family-centered philosophy of public life.

“There has been a rash of pro-abortion legislative assaults around the country,” warned Congressman Smith. “Even in my home state of New Jersey, far-left, radical politicians are passing extreme and dangerous laws that go so far as to legalize abortions as late as nine months into a pregnancy. Re-establishing the right to life regardless of sex, age, disability or condition of dependency is the human rights issue of our time.”

Smith continued, “We must come together to defend the weakest and most vulnerable. I am proud to stand with leaders from around this great nation to shed light on this crisis and promise there is hope on the horizon.”

Smith, who is the long-term co-chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, is a recognized pro-life champion both domestically and internationally. He is also the author of the No Taxpayer Funding Abortion bill which would permanently prohibit all federal funding of abortion. The bill, which has passed the House four times is currently installed in the Senate. Smith is also the author of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and continues to spearhead multiple pro-life efforts in Congress.
